The North Carolina Counseling Association (NCCA) has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 2034.  Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified.  The North Carolina Counseling Association (NCCA) is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

What are the technical requirements to participate in the conference?

We will be using the Whova Event app for this conference, and Zoom for live stream presentations.  The Zoom links to presentations are embedded in the Whova App and can be accessed from the Agenda in Whova.

You will need a device that can support either the Whova web app (computer, laptop) or mobile app (smartphone, tablet). Google Chrome is the preferred web browser for the Web App. To access the Web App from your computer or laptop, simply sign on to the web app https://whova.com/portal/webapp/ncaac_202102/ and login with the email you used to register for the conference.  You will need an internet connection.

The Whova mobile app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. You will receive instructions to download the app when you register for the conference.  App Download Link

You may find that it is ideal to use both the web app and mobile app.  The web app is best for attending sessions, and the mobile app is great for interacting with attendees and presenters.

I’ve found the conference on the web (or downloaded mobile) app and can’t sign in.  What should I do?

  • Be sure that you are using the email address that you registered for the conference with.  Check your conference registration email if you are unsure.
  • You do NOT need an invitation or event code to sign in.
  • If you are getting an “invalid email or password” message and you have downloaded Whova for prior conferences, you may need to reset your password.  Click “Forgot your password?” on the sign in screen to request a reset.
  • For attendees who have downloaded the Whova mobile app for prior events:  If you are on the mobile app and Whova is asking you to “join the event”, sign out of Whova and sign back in with the email address you used to register for the conference.  To sign out of Whova, go to your profile (upper left) > settings > sign out.

I have the Whova app on my phone; and can’t find the 2021 conference or it’s asking me to join the event.  What should I do?

For attendees who have downloaded the Whova mobile app for prior events, sign out of Whova and sign back in with the email address you used to register for the conference.  To sign out of Whova, go to your profile (upper left) > settings > sign out.

Should I download the Zoom Client?

Yes, if at all possible.  According to Zoom, the meeting experience is limited from the browser.  “Join from the browser” is a workaround for participants who are unable to download, install, or run applications.

What is Whova?

Whova is an event management platform that combines an online app, event registration and logistics. The app provides both a desktop and a mobile app where attendees are able to:

  • View and customize their conference agenda
  • Attend and participate in conference sessions
  • Meet and network with other attendees
  • Pose questions and discussions to organizers or attendees
  • Plus a lot more!

Access to the Whova App is FREE to attendees.

When will I be able to access the conference platform?
Do I need an “event/invitation code”?

When you register and pay for the conference, you will have access to the event platform “NC Counseling Association Annual Conference 2021” on Whova.

If you have registered and paid for the conference, you do not need an “invitation code”.  You will be able to login to the app (both mobile and web) using the email address you registered with.

What if I have technical issues?

During the conference February 24-27, 2021, please visit “Tech Help” in the Resources section of the web or mobile app for up-to-date contact information.

How will I receive my CE certificate for the conference?

When you attend the conference, you will set your own agenda, and then use your personal agenda as a reference when reporting your CE.  You will report the sessions you attended at the conclusion of the conference.  A link to the “CE Tracking Form” will be emailed to all attendees.  You can also access the form by going to “Resources” on the mobile or web app and finding “Report CE”.   You will receive your CE certificate within 2-3 weeks of the end of the conference.
